From Picasso to the current artistic trends, the fantastic show dedicated to contemporary art is back in Siena

90 artists, more than 160 works, two thematic sections. These are the numbers of “A cavallo dell’anno” (straddling 2015 and 2016), the exhibition of contemporary art that reaches its fourth edition combining in original way classicism and modernity and proposing to reflect on the "time" when one year ends and another begins; we symbolically stand with a foot in the past and the other one in the future, exactly “a cavallo” (straddling) between an already and a not yet.

Indeed, If a section of the exhibition proposes a gaze on the recent past trough the operas of masters like Franca Marini, Pablo Picasso, Giuliano Ghelli, Pippo Lionni, Antonio Bueno, the other looks at the future and “dress” the actuality studying communication topics by social network use that becomes a research instrument for the artist.

In fact “Double Art” was born in Facebook, the most experimental part of the exhibition where more than 70 artists, having sought out and met on social have chosen to sign a symbolic "twinning" aimed at the realization of this exhibition.

A cavallo dell’anno is an event conceived and planed by Sienese organization “Gruppo degli Estrosi” and its realized with Municipality of Siena and Monte dei Paschi di Siena bank.

The exhibition will be inaugurated in Siena on December 27 at 16.30 at the Palazzo Pubblico in Piazza del Campo with a presentation by Corrado Marsan, Duccio Balestracci, Fabio and Antonio Mazzieri Locafaro.

“A cavallo dell’anno” lasts in Siena until January 31.
